Learn to be confident like a baby

It’s the matter of building confidence when we need it. Our biggest challenge, that we have achieved and forgotten in our life was learning to walk, I certainly don’t remember my ordeal but there’s lot we can learn from a baby especially in building confidence, if we place ourselves with learner’s attitude.

They fall and get hurt in their effort to walk, if it’s painful they cry, but the pain is neither in their memory nor does it detest them from trying again. It’s as if they don’t want to focus on the pain but the pleasure to reach high and walk.

Their efforts make us and people around them laugh, but humiliation is foreign language to them. The only answer they know is smile back, this makes us happier inside and we reach out giving a helping hand.

If their efforts take them no where they become creative, they crawl and crawl till they reach a tea table or a sofa, hold on to it and pull  up, take one step at a time till they are confident to walk, as if creativity is natural to them. I have seen babies (especially my sister kids) when they don’t like to eat they become creative at their best to distract mom from her task.

They become oblivious to their environment and never forget to enjoy while still learning and achieving what they want.

I feel that we have unlearnt lot of good stuff and replaced with clutter of beliefs that destroys our confidence and richness of life. By birth we are confident beings we knew perfectly how to achieve what we want with bullet proof confidence and zero arrogance. We knew perfectly how to ignore people laughing at us and rub-off the painful wounds.

Next time when you are feeling low on confidence remember how a baby would achieve it, don’t count the failures, don’t bother about humiliation, never worry about what others think; accept pain. If conventional method is not helping bring the creative genius with in you.

Departing, be open to learn from any one and anything. We can learn a ton from life that is close to nature and nature itself, like confidence from a baby, strength of persistence from water and wind, patience from tree, balance in life by fire.
